We believe that adults with disabilities have the right to opportunities within their community - to participate in and contribute to, as fully as they are able, all aspects of community life.

Mission Statement
Cosmo's mission is to enhance quality of life for adults with intellectual disabilities. Respecting the dignity and needs of each individual, Cosmo creates opportunities, provides support and challenges participants with intellectual disabilities to reach their full potential.

Founded by the Saskatoon Branch of the Saskatchewan Association for Community Living in co-operation with Mental Health Saskatchewan Abilities Council.

Cosmo is directed by a Volunteer Board of Directors. It is a registered charity and incorporated non-profit organization.

Capital funding has been received from the Cosmopolitan Clubs of Saskatoon, the Kinsmen Foundation, the City of Saskatoon and the Maunders R. McNeil Foundation, Affinity Credit Union, the Province of Saskatchewan and Western Economic Diversification Canada. Saskatchewan Social Services contributes most of the operating costs for program delivery. Much of the necessary operating funds are generated from the productive activities of Cosmo.

All revenues of Cosmo are directed toward enhancing services for adults with intellectual and/or multiple disabilities

From its modest beginnings in 1970 that supported 15 individuals, to its current program that annually provides 100,000 days of support for individuals with intellectual disabilities, Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. has remained true to its earliest commintmment to offer services to meet the long-term needs of adults who have intellectual disabilites.

Cosmo supports and provides vocational work, non-vocational activities and support options for the full spectrum of adults with intellectual disabilities.  These diverse opportunities allow participants many options from which to choose.  Cosmo's goal is for all participants to achieve their maximum potential by allowing them to control and direct their own lives, make decisions, take responsibility for their actions, learn through success and failure and have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the community.

Our programs strive to develop and implement opportunities that enhance quality of life while promoting personal development that meets the person-centered needs of the participants.
